Description:
R.T. Wing with niece and nephew, Cottagewood. Mr. Wing invented the Parker 51 pen. His home was destroyed by the 1965 tornado that went through Cottagewood so he built a 'tornado—proof' house on the same site. The house was so well built and sealed that Mr. Wing died because of carbon monoxide gas due to a down draught of the furnance and no source of fresh air or a way for the gas to escape.
