Porch of the White House Hotel with a large tree on the side. Included with the picture is the following 'article' "This clipping from the National Health Journal is not a paid ad, but was written by one of the staff who spent a month at the hotel, but I will admit it reads as if it were loaded. FEP" "Among the hotels that have contributed to the popularity and fine reputation enjoyed by Minnetonka is the White House hotel (sic), situated most admirably on the east shore of the lake in the pretty and thriving little village of Excelsior. This delightful, well—known and conspicuous house, is one of the largest and best known stopping places at Minnetonka. It is a delightful home—like resort, standing on a rise of ground back on the shore, the lawn sweeping down to the water, on one of the largest and most beautiful bays, and within sight of the gay panorama of steamers, boats and yachts on the lake. The hotel is filled with fashionable people taking their ease in an elegant unfashionable way. Taking all things together there are few places where rational men and women can have a better time, or find a summer vacation more thoroughly enjoyable and profitable than at the White House Hotel. The patrons of this old established house obtain every advantage to be found_______"
