Description:
Lake Park Hotel (Tonka Bay Hotel) in Tonka Bay. The hotel was built in 1879 by the Northwestern Sunday School Association. It was orginally called the Minnetonka Park Hotel. It had 250 acres with almost five miles of lakeshore. It's pavilion was orginally called the Lake Park Amusement Hall included a theater and a ballroom. In by 1883 a roller rink was included. Around 1904 the newly remodeled Lake Park Hotel was renamed the Tonka Bay Hotel. The hotel was razed in1913. The pavilion was still standing and was moved across the lake to a site close to where the amusement park would be built. ("Lake Minnetonka's Historic Hotels") Half of a stereoscopic picture.
