Description:
Half of a stereoscopic card hotel St. Louis pier about 1880. Hotel St. Louis was the first of Lake Minnetonka's five largest resort hotels. It overlooked Carson's Bay and Bay of St. Louis. Because business was poor around the turn of the century, the hotel was demolished in 1907. The following year Walter O. Douglas, of Quaker Oats fame, started building his house on the hotel's site. ("Lake Minnetonka's Historic Hotels").
